In 1999, an event took place that I didn't organize, that I wasn't even able to attend.

And I am not ashamed to say, that the event was one thing that I will always say I was sorry I missed.

Of course I am speaking of the 30 year reunion of the graduating class of 1969 from Malcolm Campbell High School, Montreal. An event that over 200 of my fellow classmates made into such a rousing success (yes, I have heard the class song on the web site) that it probably never will be repeated.

However, even though I did not attend, I too have renewed friendships as a result of the organizing committee's efforts back then. Heck, I've even moved back to Montreal and re-met the likes of Kris Sladek (Kendry), Johanne Corbeil (Ben Simon), Gary Parker, and Marlene Busko.

Well it's been almost 7 years since that weekend, and Gary, I, and others have talked about doing something in 2007 or 8. This time I want to be involved, so here are some ideas and space to fill in others that you may come back with. I have tried to put in general cost estimates, but they are very general, so don't hold me to them.

Please let me know what you think. We will have to make some decisions and take some action this early fall to make a reality of MCHS Reunion 2007 OR 8, The Sequal.

Idea # 1

Montreal, a revisit to MCHS, a weekend of activities, maybe timed during jazz or comedy festivals in July to add even more spice to the weekend.
Costs: Minimal to Montrealers ($100-200) Includes airfare and hotel ($500-800 per person)

Idea # 2

A Canadian resort, say in Ontario, the Rockies, Kelowna, or Whistler in B.C. 4 days, 3 nights or 7 days, 6 nights. Can easily be a family vacation with a reunion component. August is the best month.
Costs: Including airfare, accommodation and some meals ($1200-1400   per person)

Idea #3

Viva Las Vegas. Adult fun, with a reunion component. Following up on all the fun people had at the Holiday Inn in Pointe Claire!! Say 5 days and 4 nights in August or September for adults only, including shows and some meals.
Costs: airfare, hotel and some meals - $800 - 1000 (US) per person

Idea #4

All-inclusive Caribbean Resort (Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican republic for examples.
7 days and 6 nights of late fall (October or November) with all meals and, dare I say, booze.
Costs: airfare, hotel, meals, etc. - $900 - 1,400 per person

Also let us know if you would like to be part of the next organizing committee, if the next fruition becomes more than an idea.
